Hot Lava Stone Massage

(ABMP approved) seminar is held on a Saturday and Sunday (10am - 5pm) Semi-private seminar (4 attendees only) is held on Sunday only. Certification and 12 ceu's earned.  Estheticians may take this class as a spa treatment and receive certification and ceu's. Estheticians will receive spa training that does not exceed their licensure.  Massage therapists will receive a more indepth clinical training. Students note: You must have 400 hours of massage trainging/education in order to be certified.  Cost is $275.00 for 2 day seminar and $300.00 for semi-private class. You will be required to come to class with your Lava stones, cooker and other required supplies. This seminar is not the same as LaStone...please do not bring riverbed stones. Infusion Therapy

This is a weekend seminar offered on Saturday and Sunday (times tba) This seminar concentrates on integrating a variety of treatments into a Swedish massage session.  For Massage Therapists: we will focus on sequencing the use of paraffin to moisturize the clients hands and feet, facial massage that includes pressure point stimulation, myofascial stretches to release holding patterns and the spot use of a salt rub to stimulate blood flow and oxygenation.  For Estheticians:  We will focus on the sequencing of paraffin for hands and feet, full body exfoliation with sisal mitt, facial massage with acupressure point stimulation that focuses on tightening facial muscles, with a facial that includes extraction and mask. Gentle stretching techniques for the head and neck will be included.

 Students note:  You must have 400 hours of massage training/education in order to be certified.

Certification and ceu credits will be provided for massage therapists and estheticians. The cost is $275.00.  A $100 (non-ref) deposit is required one week prior to seminar. Hot and Cold Stone Facial

For Estheticians only. This class offers training and certification for estheticians in the stone facial.  You will learn how to combine thermal and cryogenic techniques using basalt and marble stones.  The addition of hot and cold stones to a facial, that includes extraction and mask, can provide many benefits to the client and estheticians.  Thermal heat gently coaxes the pore to open making difficult extraction easier for you and less uncomfortable for the client.  Cryogenic use of marble stones de-puffs under eye swelling and reduces flushing.  Cold marble is ideal for use after fruit peels and other trauma causing therapies.  This is a one day (8 hours) class.  Look for it on Mondays and occasionally on Sundays.  The cost is $200.00.  a $50.00 (non-ref) deposit is required one week prior the class.  Please contact Joanna directly at jojosjuju@verizon.net for the necessary information.

Salt Scrub sequenced into Swedish and Deep tissue massage.

Advanced training in massage/spa combo.  For massage therapists only.  This is a one day (8 hour) class. It will be offered on Mondays and occasionally Sundays.  Check the website for exact dates. (pending ABMP approval)

During massage, Swedish combo deep tissue, we often run into resistant muscle tension.  Often deep tissue complicates the situation and is only partially effective.  I find that using a spot application of salt, oil and essential oil, provides an easier way to release energy blocks, knots, and tight fascia. Salt stimulates blood flow, increases oxygenation and as a result relaxation occurs. To end the session you will learn some cranial manipulation techniques taken from zero balancing theory.   In conjunction with some myofascial stretches and energy holds I find I can accomplish a lot in a one hour session.  We will cover contraindications for salt use, and for the use of essential oils.  The cost is $150.00 and includes sample vials of essential oil blends provided by "JoJo's JuJu...Universal Elixirs"...a $50.00 (non-ref) deposit is required one week prior to the class.  Please contact Joanna directly at jojosjuju@verizon.net for complete info.  Thank you.

Spa Facial with Facial Massage including Acupressure Point Stimulation and Cranial Manipulation techniques

For Massage Therapists and Estheticians.

This is a one day (8 hour) class offered on Mondays and occassionally Sundays.  Please check the website for exact dates and times.  (pending ABMP approval)

For Massage Therapists:  the focus will be on giving a well structured facial massage as well as a basic spa facial.  The spa facial includes cleansing, tonifying with an aloe tonic and preparing the face for massage.  How to apply and remove a gel mask will be included. Acupressure point stimulation helps to tighten facial muscles.  Cranial manipulation and energy holds will be included. For the Esthetician: the focus will be on sequencing the acupressure point stimulation into a complete facial.  This is an excellent addition to the egg white complex mask. We will also discuss using the high frequency wand as a way to stimulate the acupressure points.

Full Body Exfoliation, Cryogenic Body Masking and Warm oil Massage: For Massage/Spa Therapists and Estheticians

(pending ABMP approval. This class is offered on Mondays, and occasionally Sundays.  Please check the website for exact dates and times. 

A full day is spent learning how to use full body exfoliation, kneading massage techniques and cryogenic spot masking to address the release of stuck toxins just below the epidermis.  This is a great treatment to prepare the body for cellulite treatments and to enhance lymphatic work. We will also see, through demonstration, how the use of steam facilitates pore expansion to receive treatments, such as Vitamin C serum, used to feed the skin and enhance skin wellness. AS WITH ALL MASSAGE CLASSES YOU WILL NEED TO BRING SHEETS AND OIL.  IN ADDITION YOU WILL NEED TO BRING, 6 HAND TOWELS AND 2 BATH SIZE TOWELS PLUS A LIGHT, TWIN SIZE BLANKET.

Intro to Salt & Sugar Rubs....class includes preparing the salt and sugar mixes, discussion of contraindications including basic skin contraindications. We will also discuss the clinical benefits of the salt rub and the cosmetic benefits of the sugar rub.  The back, feet and hands will be the areas we will focus on.

Spa Facial...You will learn the basic techniques of the spa facial.  Cleansing with facial sponges, toning the skin, correct facial massage techniques and how to apply a wet facial mask.  You will also learn which products are appropriate for the face.  This class is designed to fit within the licensure of massage.

Body Masking: Includes the use of hand held infra red light, paraffin, and a hardening sea algae mask...This class offers the student a chance to practice the use of some spa techniques.  The spot work isolates muscle mass and provides a variety of techniques to relieve sore muscles, knots and tight fascia.

Intro to Hot Lava Stone Massage:  You need to complete all your Swedish classes as a prerequisite for this class.

Learn the basic technique of Lava stone massage.  We will discuss the history, contraindications and popularity of this amazing treatment.  You will give and receive a back massage with the hot stones.  THIS IS A PREREQUISITE FOR THE LAVA STONE COMBO SWEDISH CLASS AND A PREREQUISITE FOR THE HOT LAVA STONE CERTIFICATION SEMINAR.

Sequencing of Hot Lava Stone into Swedish Massage.

This class offers the student the opportunity to explore the use of the stone as a tool to easier knot removal and as a way to spot reduce tense muscles.  PREREQUISITE: INTRO TO HOT LAVA STONE MASSAGE.

Full body exfoliation and warm oil massage:  This class provides the student with an opportunity to learn a popular spa treatment.  You will learn how to sequence a full body exfoliation using exfoliation gloves into a warm oil Swedish massage.  LAB FEE: $5.00 DUE AT CLASS TIME...NO EXCEPTIONS.   You keep the exfo gloves.  Bring a plain, non scented oil.  I will infuse your oil with an ayurvedic essential oil blend, provided by "JoJo's JuJu...Universal Elixirs.... formulated especially for this treatment.

Energy Massage...Discover an exciting part of massage that will work wonders for your clients and enhance your own well being.  Through a variety of energy holding techniques, myofascial stretches, cranial sacral holding techniques and Swedish massage you will learn how to use your mind over body to access and eliminate toxic muscles tension and deep knot release.  This class will help you understand the Integrative Massage classes, especially the first two.
